Hickory Police Charge Man With Attempted Murder

A man is charged with attempted murder after Hickory Police say he rammed his car into another vehicle on Thursday.

Officers were called to the Speedway Convenience Store on Highway 127 after 8am. A silver Honda vehicle had struck the building. Officers learned the Honda was intentionally struck by the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse, according to a news release. The driver of the Traverse fled the scene.

Miles Shunte Ramseur, age 43 of Lawndale, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with felony attempted first-degree murder, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, assault on a female by male over 18 years, communicating threats, injury to personal property, and hit and run.

No injuries were reported. Police say the incident was a domestic issue. Ramseur is being held in the Catawba County Jail without bond.
