Hickory Police Charge Alabama Man With Rape

A man has been charged with rape by Hickory Police.

On Friday, Hickory Officers charged 42-year-old Miguel Velazquez-Uribe of Birmingham, Alabama with felony attempted second-degree forcible rape, felony second-degree sexual offense and assault on a female. The suspect is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday, May 26th in Newton.

According to arrest documents, it has yet to be determined if the suspect is in the United States illegally.
