Hickory Man Jailed After Crash And Chase In Alexander County

A Catawba County man is in Alexander County custody following a hit-and-run accident and vehcile chase on Wednesday.

The NC Highway Patrol was alerted to a vehicle crash. The driver who allegedly initiated the accident fled. A Trooper pursued the suspect vehicle along with Alexander County Deputies and Taylorsville Police. The pursuit ended on High 16 North of Taylorsville.

Taken into custody was 32-year-old James Wallace Clark, Moretz Hall LN, Hickory. He is charged with

Felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehcile
Hit and Run
Failure to heed to blue light and siren
Reckless driving to endanger
Driving left of center
Driving with license revoked
Tow counts of resisting arrest

Clark is being held in the Alexander County Jail with a secured bond listed at $50,000.
