Alexander Central Wins Easter Baseball Tournament

Alexander Central 11 Newton-Conover 1…6 innings

The Cougars completed a dominating display Wednesday night to win the Catawba Valley Easter Baseball Classic. They outscored the competition 31-1 including an 11-1 thumping of Newton-Conover in the Championship game.

Senior Carter Bowman was the mound-winner allowing a single run and four hits. He recorded 8 srikeouts.

Kade Church and Ty Matheson both recorded 3 hits. Sawyer Chapman-Mays was 2-2 with 3 runs batted in. Gunnar Johnson, Jude Carter and Maddix Reese registered a pair of rbi.

The Cougars are 16-2 and return to Northwestern Conference action on Tuesday, April, 14th when they host McDowell.
