Hickory Man Facing Child Sex Charges In Alexander County

35-year old Matthew Paul Starnes of Hickory is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center after being transferred from custody in Catawba County on Thursday, April 8th.

Starnes was taken into custody in Caldwell County on February 26th for outstanding charges in Catawba County. While in the Catawba County Detention Center, he was charged with warrants for one count of Felony Statutory Sex Offense with a Child by Adult and one count of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child in Alexander County.

Starnes is now being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $150,000.
