Hickory Man Facing Alexander County Charges

Steven Gilvaja, age 37, of 34th Ave CT,NE, Hickory, was arrested on Sunday by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with

Felony possession of fentanyl
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Simple assault
Driving with license revoked.

As of earlier today, Gilvaja remains in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled for a Monday court appearance in Taylorsville.

The suspect has a 2025 charge for felony possession of methamphetamine pending in Catawba County.
