33-year-old Geovanny Jesus Acosta of 25th Avenue NE in Hickory was arrested Monday, September 1 by Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputies. He’s charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and communicating threats. Acosta was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond. A District Court date was scheduled on Tuesday.
