Hickory Man Charged With Assaulting Female With Pipe In Catawba County And Felony Drug Charge In Alexander County

Yia Vang, age 45, of Hickory, was arrested on Saturday December 27th by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and providing false information to a law enforcement officer. Vang was charged in Catawba County on December 20th with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and a crime of domestic violence. The incident involved Vang allegedly assaulting a female with a metal pipe. The suspect is being held without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center.
