HICKORY – Starting on Wednesday, June 10, the Geitner Trail—the paved greenway connecting Hickory City Park and Rotary-Geitner Park—will be closed for resurfacing. Weather permitting, the project is expected to take up to two weeks.
During construction, Rotary-Geitner Park will be closed to the public, including the parking lot, paved greenway, Lake Hickory Trails mountain bike trail system, and portions of the elevated Riverwalk overland trail.
The Riverwalk overwater bridge will remain open and can be accessed from the trailhead on Old Lenoir Road. Hickory City Park will remain open for tennis play.
