Granite Falls Police and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are conducting an investigation into an incident that has been reported as a fatal accidental shooting. On Wednesday, January 16th Granite Falls Officers and Emergency Responders were dispatched to a location on Falls Avenue. 29 year old Cal Culver Bills had sustained a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A female told officers she was with Bills when he shot himself accidentally. The female is reported to be the person who made the 911 call.
