A man is being held in Alexander County on a 2019 failure to appear warrant for felony larceny. 45-year-old Stephen Edward Melvin was taken into custody in Goldsboro and transferred to the Alexander County Detention Center. Melvin also has a list of pending charges in Wayne County that includes felony possession of methamphetamine, felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor financial card fraud. Melvin remains in custody with a secure bond of $30,000. An April 25th court date is scheduled for Alexander County District Court.
