Friday Alexander County COVID-19 Report

33 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Friday by the Alexander County Health Department.


At this time the Alexander County Health Department is scheduling:

· First and second dose appointments for the Pfizer vaccine for persons age 12 and older and the Moderna vaccine for persons age 18 and older
· Pfizer booster vaccines for persons who received both their first and second Pfizer doses at least 6 months ago and who can self-attest that they are (1 or more of the following):age 65 or older;age 18 or older and a resident of a long-term care facility; are 18-64 with an underlying medical condition(s) that puts them at high risk for severe COVID-19, or are 18-64 with an occupational exposure to COVID-19

We also continue to schedule third-doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to fully vaccinated persons who are moderately to severely immunocompromised according to CDC guidelines.

We have not yet been told when the FDA will meet to vote on Moderna boosters.

There is no recommendation for an additional dose of Janssen/J&J at this time.
