Foster Parent Information Set Set For March 17th

March 6, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

Have you ever considered becoming a foster parent? The Alexander County Department of Social Services will host a foster parent information session on Monday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. at DSS in advance of an upcoming training course called Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (MAPP).

The information session is an opportunity for individuals interested in becoming licensed foster parents to learn more about the foster parent licensure process and training requirements, and to meet the staff who will be providing the training.

Light refreshments will be offered during the information session. Pre-registration is encouraged for planning purposes. To register, visit https://dss.alexandercountync.gov/mapp or call 828-352-7619.

The MAPP training, which begins on April 22, will meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. for 10 weeks.
For more information, call 828-352-7619.
