Former Statesville Police Officer Charged With Statutory Rape

A former Statesville Police Officer has been arrested and charged with statutory rape.

22-year old Stephen Quinn Gordon was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by the the SBI. He’s charged with statutory sex offense with a child age 15 or younger and statutory sex offense with a child age 15 or younger. The investigation began in November, 2023.

Gordon is being held without bond.

He resigned from the Statesville Police Department on November 29, 2023.
