West Central Alexander County in the piedmont of North Carolina… Southeastern Burke County in western North Carolina… Southern Caldwell County in western North Carolina are included in the warning through 6:45 am today.
At 345 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
