Fire destroyed a home in Northern Alexander County on Sunday.
Firefighters from Vashti, Hiddenite, Sugar Loaf and Taylorsville went to the location. A Wilkes County unit in addition to an Iredell County department were also dispatched to the dwelling around 3:45 pm.
Assistant Fire Marshall Garrett Huffman says the blaze destroyed the home. Preliminary indications are that a space heater was the case of the fire.
No injuries were reported but he home was occupied by an adult and six children. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
