An early morning fire today in Alexander County could have been a disaster !
Around 6am, Alexander County 911 got a call indicating there were flames on the roof of Hancock & Moore Furniture in Bethlehem. Indeed there was.
A few seconds later, company representative said that the fire was under control. An air compressor overheated and started a fire on the roof of the structure. It was very quickly extinguished by company employees. No damage was reported to the structure.
The air system is not operating today. Employees who use an air gun will not work today according to fire officials.
