An Alexander County home sustained major fire damage overnight.
County Fire Marshall Marke Earle said the double-wide mobile home structure on Teague Town Road was “heavily damaged, possibly destroyed.”
Units from Wittenburg, Bethlehem, and Ellednale were dispatched to the blaze that started in an attached garage. The fire destroyed the garage and did heavy damage to the home as well. Earle says the cause has yet to be determined.
One occupant was home at the time and called 911 at 8:44 pm.
Alexander EMS responded as did the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
One firefighter was treated by EMS for possible heat exposure.
