Seven people are without a home after fire destroyed a residence early Monday morning in Stony Point.
Alexander County 911 began dispatching units to 9076 Highway 90 East at 1:46am. The home was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived.
Interim Fire Marshall Garrett Huffman says the structure is a total loss. Some seven people lived at the residence. No injuries were reported. Huffman says the cause of the fires has yet to be determined.
Stony Point, Hiddenite, Taylorsville, Ellendale and Wittenburg Fire Departments all responded as did units from West Iredell and Monticello.
