On Wednesday, Stony Point Fire Department along with Hiddenite and Taylorsville-Central Alexander Units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 375 County Line Rd involving a chicken house. Upon arrival crews found a working fire.
Crews made an aggressive attack on the fire stopping the flames before it caused any major damage.. Approximately 100 ft of the structure was damaged. No birds were in the house at the time.
The poultry operation was owned by Tracy Patterson.
Also on scene was Wittenburg and West Iredell for manpower and Alexander County EMS.
The cause of the fire is ruled as electrical in nature. No injuries were reported according to Alexander County Fire Marshall Chris Hicks.
