Drug Bust Announced

A suspected drug dealer is being held under a $1 million dollar bond following his arrest on Wednesday.

23-year old Victor Castillo Montoya of Hickory was taken into custody by Hickory Police. He is charged with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony trafficking cocaine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute methamphetamine and trafficking in methamphetamine. Montoya remains in the Catawba County Detention Center with an initial court appearance scheduled for today in Newton.
