Alexander Central swept four non-conference basketball games over West Wilkes Wednesday evening in Taylorsville

The visitors led by four half as the Lady Cougars opened the game sluggish following the holiday break. AC outscored West 17-5 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Julianna Walter paced the Lady Cougar scoring with 11, Hallie Jarrett added 10 and Kirstyn Herman had 10 along with 13 rebounds. Alexander Central improves to 11-1 on the season. West Wilkes who falls to 5-8 was led by Parker Childress with 20 points.

The Cougars routed the Blackhawks leading 12-0 after the first quarter. The visitors never led suffering 23 turnovers. Evan Presnell had 15 and Avery Cook 13 in a game that was moved to Wednesday night after being postponed in December due to COVID issues in the West Wilkes program. West is now 3-7 while ACHS stands at 12-2.
