Cougars And Spartans Split

Varsity Women

Alexander Central 46 South Caldwell 28

Taylorsville: The Lady Cougars bounced back from a loss last week and beat Rival South Caldwell Thursday evening.

South Caldwell led only once in the first period. ACHS was up 29-15 at the half.

South Caldwell suffered 25 turnovers.

Meredith Wike topped the AC scoring with 15 points. She added 9 rebounds.

Alexander Central is 1-1 in Northwestern Conference play and 15-1 overall

Varsity Men

South Caldwell 64 Alexander Central 54

The visiting Spartans rallied from down 40-36 after three quarters to get the win. They outscored the Cougars at the charity stripe 22-4 !

Tyler Cline led South with 17 points including 14 of 15 free throws.

Jayon Connor was the leading Cougar with 18 points.

The loss drops Alexander Central to 0-2 and 6-10. South is 11-6 and 2-1 in league play.
