Alexander Central 3 Carson 2
Alexander Central Softball picked up a non-conference win on Wednesday in Rowan County defeating Carson 3-2.
Laney Wike got the win but things got a bit shaky in the 7th inning. The Lady Cougars led 3-0 heading to home half of the final frame. Carson scored twice (both runs unearned) but the rally fell short.
Kirstyn Herman went 2 for 3 including a homer for Alexander Central. Ava Chapman had the other run batted in for ACHS.
The winning streak is at 11 for the Lady Cougars, they’re 14-3 overall and 7-0 in Northwestern Conference play. They will host league rival South Caldwell on Friday.
Carson drops to 12-6.

West Rowan 7 Alexander Central 2
The Cougars saw their 12 game winning streak end on Wednesday in a non-league game at Bob Gryder Stadium. Alexander Central led 2-0 after 3 innings to see the Falcons rally with a run in the fourth and six in the fifth. The Blue and Gold were limited to just three hits and are now 16-5. West Rowan jumps to 13-5.
