Alexander Central continued to battle defensive woes in a loss to Hickory on Friday in Catawba County. The Cougars led 5-2 going to the home-half of the 5th inning before Hickory rallied for a run in the 5th and 4 in the 6th. AC scored in the 7th to force extra innings. The Red Tornadoes would win with a run in the 8th inning.
Caleb Williams took the loss in relief allowing 5 runs, none of which were earned as the Cougars committed 5 errors in the game leading to 6 unearned runs. JD Little allowed 3 runs (1 unearned) in 4.2 innings.
