46-year old Stewart Lynn Sawyer of Old Mountain Road, Hiddenite was taken into custody Monday by Conover Police. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. Following his arrest he was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $2,200. Sawyer is scheduled to appear in court today in Newton.
