Ian Maurice McMahon
The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and US Marshals went to a home on Guy Baker Road around 5am to serve warrants on 30-year old Ian Maurice McMahon. The warrants included a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, probation violations and drug charges. McMahon was at the residence along with a female. The duo refused to exit the mobile home.
The Sheriff’s Office deployed the STAR (Special Tactics and Response) team to the home. After more than three hours, a woman exited the dwelling. McMahon surrendered shortly after. The woman was released once McMahon was in custody.
One of the warrants concerned McMahon’s social media postings, including one where he stated “people in charge need to be forcibly replaced therefore it’s probably not gonna be accomplished without some bloodshed.”
McMahon is charged with multiple counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony probation violations. He is listed as an inmate in the Catawba County Detention Center. A Newton Court appearance is set for Monday.
