Scotty Allen Harrington, age 37, was detained on Tuesday on charges dating back to August.
On August 25th, Harrington was arrested after attempting to avoid a checkpoint conducted by the NC Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Office in Southern Alexander County. Harrington fled on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed into Catawba County where he crashed. After crashing, Harrington attempted to flee on foot but was captured. He was found to be in possession of a significant amount of illegal substances.
The charges include felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony elude arrest with a motor vehicle, possession of stolen goods (license tag), driving with license revoked and multiple counts of resisting a public officer.
Harrington is detained with bond set at $75,000. He’s scheduled for court in Taylorsville on January 6th.
