Conover Man Charged With Kidnapping In Alexander County

21-year old David Austin Cook of Conover was arrested overnight by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with kidnapping, assault by strangulation, and larceny of a firearm. He was also for identity theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and driving with license revoked. Cook is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $138,000. No court information is available.
