Conover Man Arrested On Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

ᴄᴀᴛᴀᴡʙᴀ ᴄᴏᴜɴᴛʏ, ɴᴄ – A cyber tip reporting possible child-exploitation activity has prompted an investigation by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators identified Jeremy Scott Arney, 55, of Conover, as a suspect during the investigation. Arney was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Cedar Valley Drive in Conover.

Arney has been charged with ten (10) counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and ten (10) counts of Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He is currently held in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $600,000 secured bond. Arney has a court appearance scheduled for December 1st.
