Conover Man Arrested For Flee To Elude Arrest. ICE Detainer Filed Against Suspect

Mariano Resendiz Resendiz, age 52, of 9th Ave NW, Conover, was arrested by the NC Highway Patrol on Monday in Catawba County.

A Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle on US 321 business. The suspect failed to stop and led the Trooper on brief pursuit. Resendiz is charged with

Felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle
Failure to heed blue light and siren
Reckless driving with wanton disregard
Speeding
Driving while impaired
Failure to maintain lance control
No operators license

The United States Department of Homeland Security has filed an ICE Detainer.

Resendiz is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center.
