The Alexander County Board of Commissioners has set Saturday, October 27, 2018 as “Clean Alexander Day.” Alexander County citizens will be allowed to dispose of their trash at convenience sites and the landfill with no charge. Operating hours for the convenience centers and the landfill will be extended to 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2018 only. The convenience centers will only accept bagged household trash. Neither the landfill or convenience sites will accept any liquid, hazardous, or asbestos-containing material. All Alexander County citizens are urged to take part in the county-wide cleanup day.
