Claremont Man Charged After Firing Shots Into Occupied Property

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old John Riley Robinette of Claremont on Sunday morning. He’s charged with felony discharging a weapon into occupied property. felony going armed to the terror of people, injury to real property, injury to personal property, and felony possession of marijuana. Robinette is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with bond set at $75,000. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st in Newton.
