Marsha Kay Glazebrook

A Catawba County woman received a prison sentence in a drug case. 35-year-old Marsha Kay Glazebrook of Newton, was sentenced to serve six to eight years in prison following her conviction for trafficking methamphetamine. She received the sentence during Catawba County Superior Court on Wednesday (March 5).

The Honorable Karen Eady-Williams, Superior Court Judge from Mecklenburg County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Glazebrook entered the guilty plea. The defendant also will be required to pay a mandatory fine of $50,000.

During service of an arrest warrant for Glazebrook at an apartment on April 24, 2023, Newton Police Officers saw a meth pipe and a purse. A search of the purse resulted in the discovery of a trafficking amount of methamphetamine.

The defendant took responsibility for the purse but only some of the methamphetamine. Gustavo Rojo investigated the case for Newton Police Department. Assistant District Attorney Melanie Earles prosecuted the matter for the State with aid from Legal Assistant Jordan Arney.
