Catawba County School Bus Struck By Car This Morning

Catawba- On Thursday, January 16, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a collision in Catawba County on Springs Road at NC 16.  A 2021 Kia Forte traveling south on Springs Road failed to adequately reduce speed and collided with a school bus that was stopped in the southbound lane due to traffic.
 
The bus was from Bunker Hill High School and River Bend Middle School.  There were twenty-nine children on the bus at the time of the collision, and none were injured.  The driver of the Kia was cited for failure to reduce speed.
