On Friday, January 3, investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division seized a trafficking amount of fentanyl while assisting Probation Officers with the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections. This seizure occurred at a residence on Hope Rd in Vale. Investigators also seized 11 grams of marijuana and $1,939.00 in United States currency.
Dirk Rodney Nixon, a resident of Hope Rd, was arrested and has been charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Manufacturing, Selling or Delivering a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Probation Violation. Nixon received a $515,000 secured bond and had a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on 01/06/2025.
