The NC Highway Patrol is investigating a Sunday crash involving a Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputy.
The mishap was reported around 4:30 pm on Sherrills Ford Road near the Dollar General and The Gold Mine Store & Grill. The Deputy was driving north when a truck turned left out of the Dollar General parking lot. The truck turned in front of the deputy. The Deputy changed lanes to avoid hitting the truck and lost control of the vehicle. Three parked cars were hit. Reports indicate the Deputy was responding to a domestic disturbance call.
The Officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
