An Asheville man was arrested on Sunday, December 28th by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and charged with a list of offenses. 58-year-old John Glenn Wyatt was cited for failure to register an address change as a registered sex-offender. Wyatt was convicted in Catawba County in 2016 for indecent liberties with a child. A warrant from McDowell County is pending for larceny of a firearm and warrants from Buncombe County include violation of his habitual felon status and uttering a forged instrument. The Catawba County charges include possession of a firearm by a felon, multiple counts of obtaining property by false pretense and uttering a forged instrument. He’s listed as a parole absconder. Wyatt is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center. No court date is listed.
