Following a traffic stop by Taylorsville Police, a Catawba County couple was charged with a long list of mostly drug related offenses.
During the evening hours of Saturday, June 29th, Taylorsville Officers stopped a vehicle at a location off NC 16 South.
Melanie Nicole Hunt, age 25 of Newton is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for controlled substance, felony possession of controlled substance on jail premises, felony possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana and multiple counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served a Catawba County warrant for attempted breaking and entering. As of earlier today, Hunt remains in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $101,000. She was scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court on Monday. Daniel Nakee Letterman, age 37 of Maiden, is charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon and driving while license revoked. Letterman remains in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000. He was also scheduled to appear in court on Monday.Photos: Taylorsville Police Department
