Catawba County Man Arrested After Alexander County Crash

Nathan Charles Hughes, 47 of Newton, is facing multiple charges in Alexander County following his arrest on Sunday, August 25th. He has been charged with hit and run, failure to report an accident and driving left of center. Hughes has been released under a secured bond of $20,000.

Pending charges in Catawba County await trial where Hughes is charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon. A September 2nd court date is scheduled in Newton.
