Caldwell County Deputies Make Fentanyl Bust

Caldwell County Sheriff Kevin Bean announced the arrest of Jalen Michael Marquis Shade, age 33 of Conover, following a routine traffic stop in the Lower Cedar Valley Road area. During the stop, K9 Jade was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Deputies discovered approximately 34.4 grams of fentanyl, various drug paraphernalia and nearly $1300 in cash. Shade was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:

Trafficking in Heroin or Opium (Fentanyl)
Possession with the Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance
Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling for Controlled Substances
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
