The two men who were found shot to death Saturday in Alexander County have been indentified.
Sheriff Chris Bowman said this morning that 38 year old Chad Lee Kennedy and Mark Jefferson Furey, age 57 were found shot to death inside a mobile home off Mt Wesley Church Road around noon Saturday. Both men were living at the location at the time of the murders. Bowman said that both men sustained “multiple gunshot wounds.” He also stated that the weapon used was likely a rifle fired at relatively close range. When asked if there was any evidence of a scuffle, he replied “There was not.”
As reported earlier, a man who had previously lived at the location had gone there to retrieve some possessions and discovered the bodies. Bowman said this is a very active investigation with multiple persons of interest but no specific suspects.
