***Breaking News*** Manhunt Underway In Alexander And Catawba Counties

A manhunt is underway in Alexander and Catawba Counties at this time for 25 year old Deandre Jerome Mack. Mack is wanted for the stabbing of a female this morning at an apartment complex on County Home Road in Conover. The female victim is said to have suffered life-threatening injuries. The victim’s mother was present at the time and also was taken to a hospital with injuries.

Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman says that Mack is a suspect in an incident that was reported on Thursday afternoon at a residence in the Wittenburg Community of Southern Alexander County. A female, thought to be the same female that was stabbed this morning, was assaulted with two children present. In Alexander County, Mack is wanted for three counts of kidnapping, assault by strangulation, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers from Alexander and Catawba Counties are conducting an intense search for the suspect at this time. Mack might be operating a blue Honda Odyssey Minivan or a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria.
