One person has been shot at a location off Paul Payne Store Road in Alexander County.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene. No word on the condition of the victim.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a shooting suspect.
According to Sheriff Chad Pennell, a man was shot inside a dwelling at 1170 Paul Payne Store Road. Pennell says the shooting victim, a male, says he was encountered by a suspect in his home. Shots were fired. The resident was struck in the head and was taken to an area hospital.
The only description of the suspect is a male in a black hat.
Drones are in the air at this time and K-9 units are on the scene as well.

Sheriff Pennell said this evening the victim is expected to make a full recovery but has not been able to provide much detail about the suspect except the male was wearing a “boonie hat.” The investigation is ongoing.

A family member has said the victim of the shooting is Gregory Dean Cline. Cline is listed as the owner of the property according to Alexander County Online GPS.
