Alexander Central’s women’s basketball team won their opening round game this morning over St Stephens in the Dick’s Holiday Classic being played in Hickory. The Lady Cougars entered the game with a record of 0-7 and was the #7 seed in the 8 team field. With the win, ACHS will advance to the winner’s bracket on Friday against the winner of Hickory vrs South Caldwell.
The Alexander Central men at 5-2 on the season are seeded 4th and will battle the 5th seeded Bunker Hill Bears at 5:30. All games are being played at the Tarlton Center on the CVCC campus.
