Walter Stephen Johnson
On Tuesday, during a session of Alexander County Superior Court, 69-year-old Walter Stephen Johnson entered a guilty plea to a pair of felony counts of first-degree statutory sex offense. He was sentenced to serve 144 to 233 months (12 years to 19.5 years) in state prison. He was granted time-spent in jail since his arrest, which totaled 205 days. Johnson was also ordered to have no contact with the two victims and be required to enter the child sex-offender registry upon release from prison.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnson on July 14, 2025.
