Dr. Amy Bowles
Alexander County Schools Superintendent Dr. Bill Griffin has filled his cabinet with the appointment of Dr. Amy Bowles as the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Bowles is currently an Instructional Specialist for Early Childhood Education with the Clover, SC school district. Her start date in ACS is August 1st.
Griffin says, “We welcome her bringing years of outside experience from a district level, yet she resides in Alexander County.”
He adds, “We hope to use her leadership to propel us to great things.”
Bowles has 20 years of administrative experience in public schools. She says she and her husband, Jesse, are proud to be part of the Alexander County community and she’s pleased to be part of the school system.
“I have experienced it from the view of a parent (Deacon-Class of 2024, Caroline-3rd grade), and as a friend and neighbor. From day one, ACS has been nothing short of amazing and we are proud to have our children prepare for their future here,” says Bowles.
She goes on to say, “I cannot wait to experience this district as a part of the instructional team.”
Her work will start with learning more about the ACS family and community. She expects to “share in their celebrations, listen to their goals, and work together towards continued success,” says Bowles.
Bowles received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Charlotte, and her Masters and Doctorate Degrees from Gardner-Webb University.
She and her family live in Taylorsville.
