A body found in the Catawba River near Morganton on Friday has been identified.
The body of 43-year old Shawn Jeroskey “Boo Boo” Cash of Morganton, was found by duck hunters according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
Cash’s body was identified Tuesday by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. He was reported missing by his family on Oct, 19.
Investigators are awaiting the medical examiner’s official cause of death report, but the preliminary cause of death is noted as drowning.
