Boone – On Tuesday, September 2, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Watauga County on North Pine Run Road near Moses Spring Road. A motorized electric bike traveling south on North Pine Run Road struck a deer that had entered the roadway.
The rider, Michael Allen Duncan Jr., 55, of Blowing Rock, was ejected from the bike and transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
