Alexander County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is proud to announce the addition of a second ambulance to EMS Station 2 (Bethlehem base) in response to a growing number of emergency calls in the southwest region of the county.
A total of eight paramedics are being hired to staff the new ambulance, which was put into service on September 15.
“This strategic expansion will enhance response times, improve coverage, and provide additional resources for emergencies in the Bethlehem area,” said Marty Pennell, Chairman of the Alexander County Board of Commissioners. “Over the past few years, Station 2 has experienced a steady rise in call volume, so the deployment of this new unit ensures the continuation of individuals receiving the high-quality, timely care they deserve.”
The new ambulance is staffed with highly trained paramedics and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, capable of handling a wide range of emergencies.
“Our community is growing, and so are the needs of our citizens,” said Jeff Sigmon, EMS Director. “Adding another ambulance allows us to respond more quickly and provide the best possible care when seconds count.”
Alexander County EMS remains committed to serving residents with professionalism and compassion, as well as an unwavering dedication to saving lives.
Sigmon expressed his appreciation to Alexander County Commissioners and county leadership for their support in adding a new ambulance and crew, and to those who continue to place their trust in Alexander County EMS when it matters most.
